It was wonderful meeting so many of you at Back to School night.  If you were unable to attend, you may access a summary of the key points I covered by clicking here. BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

Please check and sign your child’s planner every night.  They are listing weekly and sometimes daily homework in there each day.

Here’s what we are working on this week:

Religion: We will learn how we come to know God through Scripture.

Math: We begin ixL Math homework today; students should complete A1, M1 and M2 by next Monday.  We continue our study of geometry.

Spelling: We are studying Unit Two, “long and short e” words, and will have a test on these words on Friday. Students will work on the unit pages in their Spelling books, and these pages are to be done by Friday.

Grammar: We are learning about complete subjects and predicates.

Vocabulary: We continue our study of Unit One words; the test will be on Friday.

Reading:  Today your child received the first Fluency homework, which will be due next Monday.  There are two pages.  They also have a new Reading Log (4 nights of reading is required, 5 nights would be great!), which will also be due next Monday.  Click here to access the Reading Log.Reading log #1

Social Studies: As an introduction to our study of California, we continue our study of geography (continents and absolute locations using latitude and longitude).

Science: Our first unit focuses upon ecosystems, part of our life study curriculum.

Thanking you for your support,

Mrs. Mary Dwyer
