Dear Fourth Grade Families,
Here is our week in 4thgrade…
Math: We are continuing on with Unit 3! This week we will focus on number stories as well as determining if our number sentences are true or false.
ELA:
-Writing: We are taking this week to wrap up our realistic fiction writing. We will begin our transition into a new unit by the end of next week.
-Reading: Remember to keep up with our Reading Response Journals! If you have any questions please contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!
-Vocabulary: We are on our second week of Unit 5. Remember that these words are available on SpellingCity.com for practice. We will be taking our test on Friday.
-Spelling: We are working from Unit 10. Again, we have 25 words written in our daily planners but we will only be tested on 20. We will be taking our test later this week. Remember that these words are also available on SpellingCity.com
Social Studies:We are using this week to finish our discussion of the Gold Rush and California becoming a state. We will be reviewing this week before we take our test early next week.
Science:We will review our chapter one more time before we take our test on Friday!
Religion:We begin our ninth chapter in our religion books: We Honor Mary. We will be headed to the church on Wednesday at 2pm for the Living Rosary presented by our middle school students. Please join us if your schedule allows. Remember to check our website on Wednesday afternoons for “Worship Wednesday” to see a bit of what we are doing in our classroom!

Tuesday: IXL Math Skill D.1 – Reading Response Journals
Wednesday: Math Worksheet – Reading Response Journals
Thursday: Math Worksheet – Study for Spelling Test and Vocabulary Test
School Notices:
– Halloween Tattoos are on presale for $1. Students may wear 2 on Halloween day. The rest will be send home.
-Wednesday is library day!
-Wednesday is Dodger Free “Free” Dress Day!
-Friday is a full day of school!
If you have not contacted me to schedule a conference before my maternity leave, please do so soon! I have limited appointments available and will not be able to conference after next Tuesday afternoon.
