Dear Families,
Here is our week in 4thgrade…
Math: We are beginning Unit 2! This week we are focusing on equivalent names for numbers and place value of whole numbers.
ELA:
-Writing: We are continuing our realistic fiction writing.
-Reading: Remember to keep up with our Reading Response Journals! If you have any questions please contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!
-Vocabulary: We are in moving on to our second week of Unit 2.
-Spelling: We are working from Unit 3. Again, we have 25 words written in our daily planners but we will only be tested on 20. We will be taking our test later this week. In addition, we have finally made it into the computer lab! Your student is able to login to Spellingcity.com and practice their spelling words through the games and activities on this website. If your child needs their login information, please email me and I will send it home!
Social Studies:We are continuing with our first chapter in social studies! This week, we will be learning about California’s regions!
Science:We will be presenting our water ecosystems that we made on grandparents day on wrap up our chapter with our first test.
Religion:We begin our third chapter in our religion books: God Speaks to Us Through the Church. Within this chapter we discuss how God’s message reaches us through the God’s family – the church.
Homework:
Monday: IXL Math Skill A.6 – Reading Response Journals
Tuesday: Math Worksheet – Reading Response Journals
Wednesday: IXL Math Skill A.3 – Reading Response Journals
Thursday: Study for Spelling Test and Vocabulary Test
School Notices:
- Family Envelopes and Work Packets go home on Tuesday September 11th. Please return both when folders when empty!
- Wednesday is library day!
- Friday, September 14this a fully day of school
