Dear Fourth Grade Families,

Our image this week comes from one of our art projects last week! We were using our compasses to make non-concentric circles! Such wonderful colors, Eli!

Here is our week in 4thgrade…

Math: We are continuing to work from Unit 2! This week we are focusing on place value, organizing data, and addition of multidigit numbers.

ELA:

-Writing: We are continuing our realistic fiction writing.

-Reading: Remember to keep up with our Reading Response Journals! If you have any questions please contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!

-Vocabulary: We are beginning Unit 3.

-Spelling: We are working from Unit 4. Again, we have 25 words written in our daily planners but we will only be tested on 20. We will be taking our test later this week. Remember that your student is able to login to Spellingcity.com and practice their spelling words through the games and activities on this website. If your child needs their login information, please email me and I will send it home!

Social Studies:We are continuing with our first chapter in social studies! This week, we will be learning about California’s Human Geography!

Science:We will be learning how organisms depend on each other and how seeds are dispersed.

Religion:We begin our fourth chapter in our religion books: God Offers Us Eternal Life. Remember to check our website on Wednesday afternoons for “Worship Wednesday” to see a bit of what we are doing in our classroom! Again, we are choosing to focus on one of our Schoolwide Learning Expectations. This week we chose: A.3: Live their faith by identifying and responding to the needs of self and others.
