Dear Families,
Here is our week in 4thgrade…
Math: We are continuing to work from Unit 2! This week we begin by focusing on addition of multidigit numbers and end our week be learning about subtraction of multidigits.
ELA:
-Writing: We are continuing our realistic fiction writing. This week we are really focusing on how to use dialogue and descriptions to develop the events and responses of our characters.
-Reading: Remember to keep up with our Reading Response Journals! If you have any questions please contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!
-Vocabulary: We are on our second week of Unit 3. There will be a vocabulary test on Friday.
-Spelling: We are working from Unit 5. These words are homophones – watch out for the meaning of those words! Again, we have 25 words written in our daily planners but we will only be tested on 20. We will be taking our test later this week. Remember that your student is able to login to Spellingcity.com and practice their spelling words through the games and activities on this website. If your child needs their login information, please email me and I will send it home!
Social Studies:We are wrapping up our first chapter in social studies! This week, we aim to take our first test!
Science:We will be learning how organisms have adapted to survive. If you have an extra empty shoebox at home, please send it in for a lab on Thursday! We need a total of 5 boxes.
Religion:We begin our fifth chapter in our religion books: We Are Called to Follow Jesus. Remember to check our website on Wednesday afternoons for “Worship Wednesday” to see a bit of what we are doing in our classroom!
