We have just returned from our first field trip, to Channel Islands National Park Center. We enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot as well. Students are writing about the trip and this assignment is due tomorrow (some finished it in class this afternoon).
I hope that it was a wonderful Veteran’s Day weekend for all of our families. We honor those men and women who have served our country and ask for God’s blessings upon them and their families!
It is a short week, and before we know it the weekend will be here again! For this reason, there will be no new ixL Math skills assigned. We will, however, complete three nights of reading before next Monday; students may choose where to start on the Reading Log.
This week we continue writing our personal narratives in Writer’s Workshop.
In Vocabulary we begin our study of Unit 7 words and we will begin our study of Spelling Unit 10, but there will be no test this week.
In Grammar we will continue our study of verbs.
We are working on Unit 3 in Math, which covers multiplication and division. We are doing timed fact tests and have already seen improvement!
We enjoyed interesting Saint reports last week. This week we are focusing upon Our Lady, which is chapter 9, which will complete Unit 2. Test will be next week.
In Social Studies we will start group presentations on Native American tribes.
We will conclude our study of chapter two in Science, with a test early next week. Our lima bean plants are growing well; we will be in the lab tomorrow to measure them.
In Reading groups, we will continue discussions and activities related to our books.
Have a great week!
