Fourth grade is in full swing and the students are working hard.  This week:

Math:  We continue to explore place value.  All students should also be practicing their multiplication facts.  The goal is 100 facts recalled in 3 minutes.

Reading:  The students are enjoying the adventures of Gooseberry Park with Kona, Stumpy, and Gwyndolyn.

Social Studies:  We have been discussing maps, globes, latitude, longitude, and many other vocabulary words pertaining to California and its location in the world.

Science:  Ecosystems are explored as we begin our unit on Life Science.

Religion:  I have asked the students to get their own Bibles.  Please contact me if you did not get this information.  I have heard they are in stock through www.christianbooks.com. They will use this Bible through 8th grade at Sacred Heart School.

English:  We are discussing subjects and predicates of sentences.

We visit the computer lab Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons.  I have registered the students for IXL math.  More discussion on this Wednesday evening.

Music is Monday and Wednesday at 12:30.  PE is Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30. We will visit our school library on Fridays at 10:30.

I have a lot of information to share with you during Back to School night this Wednesday.  I look forward to meeting you!

Mrs. Sharon Redmond
