Nine years ago, we began The Sacred Heart School Leadership Organization and the MS students are underway this school year.  There are five elected Core Leaders who meet with the principal monthly to suggest ideas for events throughout the school year. Every 8th grade student has a position on the Leadership Team in one of three departments: Service, Social, or Spirituality.  The Leadership Team is working with the sixth and seventh grade students in planning and implementing activities for the entire student body.

The early efforts are focused on raising funds for The Archdiocese of Los Angeles Adopt-a-Family program, but something else caught their attention too!

The Leadership Team requests a free dress day on Wednesday, October 3 to raise money for Dr. Kevin and Valerie White’s Jamaica Medical Mission that takes place in mid-October.  The Leadership Team will oversee the preparation of as many hygiene packs as the donations allow. They are also asking the SHS student body to donate beanie babies and other small stuffed animals for delivery to Jamaica.
