Every graduation week, we gather as a school to learn which of the 8th grade students were able to receive academic awards. Friday afternoon, we gathered online to hear the names of the first round of this year’s academic winners.

First, The Scholar Award is given to students who receive an A in two given subjects during all three trimesters of their 8th grade year.

Mrs Clemmensen, the MS History & Religion teacher, presented this award to six students who received an A in History and Religion during each of the three trimesters of this school year.

This year’s History & Religion Scholar Award recipients are Paloma, Sienna, Gabriella, Joaquin, Alex, and Nico.

Mrs Gaither, the MS English & Literature teacher, presented this award to three students who received an A in English & Literature during each of the three trimesters of this school year.

This year’s English & Literature Scholar Award recipients are Gabriella, Joaquin, and Nico.

Mrs Manning, the MS Math & Science teacher, presented this award to two students who received an A in Math & Science during each of the three trimesters of this school year.

This year’s Math & Science Scholar Award recipients are Gabriella and Joaquin.

You may notice the repetition of some names in each of these award categories. and these repetitions complete Friday’s recognition of academic excellence,

Second, The Renaissance Award is given to those students who excel in all subject areas all of the time. In order to receive The Renaissance Award, a student must earn an A in all subjects throughout the 8th grade school year.

Mrs Manning, the 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher, presented The Renaissance Award to two students who received an A in History, Religion, English, Literature, Math and Science during the three trimesters of 8th grade.

This year’s Renaissance Award recipients are Joaquin and Gabriella.

Hearty Congratulations!

On Monday, we gather in assembly again. We will learn the recipient of the Perfect Attendance Award, the recipients of the Choir & Altar Server Recognition, and the recipients of The President’s Award.

The Class of 2020 completes this most unusual year with great success!
