Dear Kindergarten Families,
Read nightly! Have your child discuss who the characters are, where the story takes place and how it ends. If reading non-fiction listen for the facts. List books on reading log. All homework papers are in red folder this week, including a paper to print name. Please have your child print their name neatly with letters correctly printed in the lines. Hint: Kinder kids know to start all letters and numbers from the top! They should write their name neatly three times.
Learning coins, values, and counting money is difficult for most children. It really helps to count coins at home every day. I am going to assign the T section for ixl. Please have your child work in T.1 – T. 2 if having trouble knowing names of coins. Start with T.4 or T.5 if your child has 100% in the first two skills in section T. We are going to begin working on trouble spots in the computer lab next week.

We are working on letter sounds in simple words – have your child do some practice on this skill putting the sounds in order to make a word. We will practice these skills in the lab on Tuesday, all students need 100% before we move on to another skill.
