Dear Kindergarten Families,
Today we enjoyed reading the book responses from last week’s homework. Coming home this week is the Young Explorer magazine from National Geographic. This is for your child to keep at home. A non-fiction book response (linked below) will be required for homework this week. You may choose Young Explorer or any non-fiction magazine or book to complete this response.
I have included an “All About Me” apple for homework. Please complete this 3-D apple and return any day next week, I’d be happy to see some come in on Monday. They will be shared in class and put on display until the end of September.
Our resource teacher is working with your children on sight words. Work at home and indicate level on reading/web log. Most students need practice on list one. Using the giraffe book, start with list one, go on to second list or third when your child knows all first words. Some children have been exposed to reading at different levels, it is okay to work ahead. We have started checking off words your child knows. Notes will come home indicating which words or list your child should be working on.
