Dear Kindergarten Families,

It is time for your children to get familiar with the World Book online. We will be using this site for research to compare animals for our school fair project in March.  Please help your child get comfortable with this site. Login information is labeled inside their red homework folder. Click on the “Kids” balloon.  Explore the “World of Animals”. Anytime you wish to return to the home page click on the balloons.

Amazingly, it is almost the 100th day of school! I am sending home a “Happy 100 Day” bag to fill with 100 items. Our project for 100 day is filling this special bag. The items must be small; please group in small baggies by 5, 10, 20 or 25. Then all baggies must fit in the white 100 day bag!

Suggested items paper clips, erasers, pennies, cotton balls, stickers, macaroni, etc. You may mix and match items. It is your choice! Example: 10 stickers, 20 paper clips, 20 straws, etc until you reach 100. Or 100 of any single item. Please staple the bag! Our math game will be to guess what each child has in their bag – then count by the groups to 100. I am sending this information week early to give each family time to decide on their items- the 100th  day of school is on January 21.

Homework follows the usual pattern. Read nightly. Practice math websites.

Read their library book, an  informational book, or favorite storybook, and choose a book response.  Use either fiction or non-fiction form.
