Dear Kindergarten Parents,

We had a great time on our field trip today learning traditional Chumash life-ways. From grinding acorns for food and bits of stone for paint, noting edible plants on our hike, and playing native games we had a blast!

Our academic week:

Celebrating God’s love –Chapter 24: Joy is Good! Realization that Jesus brings us joy and wants us to share his  joy with others.

ELA- initial letter review /j/, /d/, /w/, and /n/. Word families ‘ut’ and ‘ug’ continue as we wrap up Theme 10 in our phonics series. Reading comprehension strategies: plot as we compare and contrast with our read aloud stories. Informational reading as we finish our unit on American Symbols.

EM- We will revisit measurement with the pan balance. Work in our student math book recording  number stories and correct formation of numbers 0-20. At home continue to count change and practice telling time to the hour.

Reminders for the week:

Thursday is the uniform sale starting around 2:00.

Friday is a noon dismissal.
