Dear Fifth Grade Families,

This Wednesday is free dress for a $1.00.  Friday is school centers and a noon dismissal for a staff meeting.  We are almost half way through the school year!  As a class we have already raised $27.07 towards our goal of $80.00 for Blessings in a Backpack!

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We are simplifying improper fractions; improper mixed numbers and we will be identifying equivalent fractions.

Science: We will be discussing how oceans have a major effect on Earth’s weather and climate.

Social Studies:  We will be comparing and contrasting the settlements in the middle colonies.

English: We are identifying prepositions, objects of prepositions, and prepositional phrases.

Religion:  Chapter 4, Confirmation is the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit.

Spelling: Unit 15.  We will have out pretest on Thursday and our test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Unit 8

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
