Parent’s Day is this Friday!

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Parent’s Day is the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. Meet us for Mass at 8:30, if your schedule permits. Reception for parents and recess for children directly after Mass. A short assembly before classroom visits. Visits most likely begin around 10:30

Please bring in 100 day bags on Wednesday!

A look at our week:

Religion: We will focus on Jesus’ protective love for all of us. After reading the parable of the Good Shepherd we will have a deeper understanding of God’s love.

ELA: phonics lessons include rhyming words noting beginning sounds and vowels (short and long) as well as the ending consonants. Writing continues with opinion pieces on making the world better. Reading pairs with phonics as we look at letters and words to read by using our powers to sound out and blend. Retelling passages and stories to help with comprehension.

Everyday Math finds us reviewing the passage of time and ordering events, patterning, describing attribute blocks and practice writing two-digit numbers.

Our 5 senses unit will begin this week with the sense of touch. We will be describing what items are by how they feel in our lab on Tuesday.

That should take us through the week – we remember MLK Jr.’s message by being kind and helpful to others. ~ Mrs. Brown
