Dear Kindergarten Families,
Monday and Tuesday are full days of school- Wed/Thurs/Fri -11:30 dismissal for our conference schedule.
We end our week celebrating the Epiphany with class parties. Parents are welcome to join us.
No school on Monday, January 15 – MLK Jr. Day.
Our academic week with cover the following:
Religion – continues with learning the importance of making good choices.
ELA- our beginning reading skills started with pictures and sight words. Now more effort is going towards decoding – we are practicing segmenting and blending consonants and vowels to read words. Writing true stories with 3 parts – beginning, middle, and ending. Our Reading Workshop will continue reading non-fiction and pull facts from reading material.
Math- measurement of weight, graphing and using the 100 grid for basic number sense.
Science- season of winter -and its effect on animals and plants.
Social Studies – Martin Luther King, Jr and his message of peace.
