Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Halloween will bring a lot of excitement and energy this week!

On Thursday students have free dress. Which means fall colors in the choice of clothes: shirts, pants, dresses, etc – please no costumes or make-up. There will be no charge for free dress.  Halloween tattoos are an option to support our mission efforts — costing $1.00 each. Your children may purchase several, only 2 will be applied on hands.  All other tattoos will come home in an envelope.

Friday, November 1 is the Saint’s Parade. Students come to school dressed as their saint with uniform underneath. All students need to know the name of their saint.  PLEASE check  length of costume for safe walking, how head pieces fit (stay on), also comfort with  kneeling in their saint dress or robe.

November 2nd is Andreas’ birthday. Brooklyn follows on the 10th and Evan on the 19th.

Learning how saints lived their ‘saintly’ lives will be our focus this week. Each student will share a little about their saint in class. In church on Friday, you child will say the name of their saint. The parade will follow as they march around the school – don’t forget your cameras!

ELA overview: sight word reading and writing, blending and segmenting simple CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant), grammar rules, and print practice.

Math: patterns, counting pennies, nickels, and dimes, math stories with addition, and  number formation.

Science continues with our 5 senses and social studies looks at rules for home, in our school, and the community.

Library books need to be returned by Wednesday–Thursday the latest in order to check out a new one. I know our class is enjoying checking out books-please list on reading log.

Friday is a noon dismissal.

Any questions or concerns? Please send me an email.

Blessings to your families,

Mrs. Carol Brown
