Dear Kindergarten Families,

It’s time to choose a Saint for your child to portray! Our annual Saint’s Parade for K-2 grade is on November 4. Our saints will parade around campus at the end of our Fall Harvest Event. More details coming home this week. Look for that information in your child’s homework folder.

This Wednesday, October 12 is a Free Dress to help support those affected by Hurricane Ian, please send in $1.00 or more.

Friday is a noon dismissal.

Academics

Religion – Quiet was the key focus last week and continues this week as well. Quiet times help us to know God better as we still ourselves. Learning how God is always with us. God is with us in a special way in church.

The roof is finished! We are back in Church on Friday. Mass at 8:30-please join us if your schedule permits.

Language Arts – letter sounds /g/ and /k/ and letter formation. Reading and writing about animals and plants changes in fall.

Math finds us using the 110 grid for counting by ones and tens. Getting familiar with the names and the attributes of geometric blocks.

Science – virtual trip to Channel Islands

Homework

As always read nightly with your child. Listen to a story from Storyline Online discuss events and characters. Do a book response from a favorite book or from the storylineonline.net website. Have your child draw character(s) and setting. Spend some time on ixl. Try for mastery in math – language arts skill ‘ABC order’ is more difficult – look for a alphabetical chart in homework folder.
