Kindergarten families,

It has been a pleasure meeting with you and discussing your child’s progress! November is here with many events and service hours opportunities. The red office envelope came home today please check contents and return the envelope this week.

Following our faith, we learn more about our Saints and continue with the Fruits of the Spirit. Prayers: Hail Mary and Our Father. We will begin to look at Mass in more detail in the next weeks.

Letters and sounds, simple short vowel words, reading and writing sentences along with punctuation comprise our language arts lessons. Math finds us working hard on place value, counting by 5s and counting money. The changes fall brings to animals and plants will be a unit in science. Social studies continues with Veterans Day activities and next week, Thanksgiving today and long ago.

Homework

Read to and with your children nightly. Please work on the Saint Report due next week. I plan to display the reports for the festivities on November 17. Mainly homework is to work on your child’s saints costume and Saint report.

Many of your children wanted a book response form. It is not required, but a choice for your child this week. Draw the setting of a favorite story.

You will notice an expo marker and two math sheets in back of homework folder. This is for practice and to keep in folder. Please practice place value with your child. We are doing this daily and making progress. Have them use the back of folder as an erase board ask to show 49 in correct place on form. Reverse to 94. Try single, double and triple digit numbers! The number grid is useful for number recognition and place value. Use the rows and columns to find numbers on the chart.
