Hello Kindergarten families,

It has been a pleasure to meeting with you over the last two weeks! Thank you for taking time to meet. If you have questions or concerns please contact me.

Monday is the Feast of All Saints! Our Religion text tells us one of the great gifts is remembering the Catholic Saints with prayer and to ask our Saints to pray for us. We will pray to our Saints and a make craft for our bulletin board.

Words Their Way continues with a new sort and letter/sounds Tt/Gg/Nn/Pp. Good to practice at home, I’ll send the sort home via attachment. Reminder: your sorts stay at home to practice.

  • Phonics finds us working with beginning and ending sounds as well as breaking words into parts to help hear those sounds.
  • Writing Workshop will consist of drawing and labeling our pictures and writing a simple sentence. A prompt may be given to start, although the creative writing process is phonetic spelling and picture drawing.
  • Reading with wordless books for comprehension and decoder books will be our reading in small groups and with partners.

Math groups will be using manipulates to create new shapes with the geometric blocks. Base ten blocks will be introduced for counting by tens and beyond and a game to group by 5s then count by 5.

Our science focus is with changes in seasons as animals prepare in fall for winter.

Veterans Day will be our Social studies lessons this week and next.

Friday is another noon dismissal

~~Next week is a short one! Monday and Tuesday are full days and Wednesday is a noon dismissal.

Bless your little saints!

Mrs. Brown
