Hello Kindergarten Families!

We are learning to shine our light as Jesus taught us. Your children understand love and care for others as well as every living thing on Earth.

Working with long and short vowel sounds, this week /o/ and word families ‘og’, ‘op’, and ‘ot’. Writing ‘how to’ papers, example how to wash the dog! Listing first, then, and last to explain the steps as it happens. Reading in whole group together, small group and partners. Sight word practice, too!

Symmetry and fractions begin this week. Continued work on addition and subtraction to have a good handle our facts to 10 and within 10.

Science – sink and float, magnetic principal and we continue to watch new life in Spring.

Social Studies – a unit on our National Symbols begins this week and continues through May.

Homework

This week no book report, but an animal report! Please go to World Book Web ( bottom of our website ). Help your child to research an interesting animal. We are practicing in class. Most all students have the link on their Kindle with login saved. If needed look for login info in my email. Math paper is a drill on addition and subtraction. Please check over your child’s work to make sure all is correct.
