Kindergarten Families!

One of my favorite events here at our school, is the Saint’s Parade. All the little saints looked fantastic in their costumes and did a great job on the reports. We are learning about everyone’s Saint as well as several others.

Weekly Academics

As we grow in Jesus’ love we give thanks for all we have. Chapter 10 turns our focus to how thankful and blessed we are for all the gifts God has given us.

We will attend Mass on Friday at 8:30 join us if your schedule permits.

Working with letters their corresponding sounds, sight words and pictures are helping us to read more words. We are working towards reading over and over for fluency. The Mabel Sight word booklet will come home soon – when it does – practice about 5 or 10 minutes daily. Look for sight words as you read. Writing workshop continues with in the narrative form. We are working on correct punctuation and capital letters when we start a sentence. Correct letter and number formation continues daily with our daily worksheets and whiteboard practice.

Math lessons find us working on place value and using the number grid. Your child’s “Home practice folder” has a 110 grid. It is helpful to look at adding and subtracting by 1’s and 10.’s Use the grid and find a target number (17) – ask your child what will the number be if you add 10 or take 10 away 10. eg. Find 17 go up the column one row finding 7 go down the column find 27. I’d like to add a “Before and After” page to the “Home practice folder” this week. Check to see if practice folder is in your child’s backpack.

Science and Social studies will focus on the season of fall and Thanksgiving traditions.

Send back your child’s Take Home Folder – it’s time to send more work home!

Note: Let’s help the less fortunate and contribute to the Adopt – a – Family with donations – see Mrs. Benner’s post on the school website.

Homework

Look for homework coming home on Wednesday. Work will be in IXL, a book report, and an activity in Seesaw.

NOTE: Seesaw sometimes has more than one page – look on right side of first activity page and arrow over from right side to find extra page. Then click the green check mark to submit.

I APPROVE neatly completed work and SEND BACK Seesaw work if it is incomplete or messy. You will have to open as a draft, then compete the assignment.

Blessings to you and your family,

Mrs. Brown
