Kindergarten families,

We are off to a good start! Adding more to our schedule each week is making school fun and exciting. 🙂

This week we will begin art. Homework starts as well. Look for your child’s homework folder on Tuesday. On Thursday look for the Completed Work folder. Please keep finished classwork and return folder.

Our Academics

This week our religion focus is on Bible Stories. We will be reading from the Old Testament in Children’s Bible and Chapter 3 in our text. Promise Weekly is another component of our faith lessons.

Language Arts – letter/sounds -/ Mm /and /Nn/; Short and long vowel /a/; Word work sorting categories – food- and non food; letter practice and printing names.

Math – patterning and sorting, left and right practice, number formation.

Science -plants and animals how they change in fall season. Lab work: explore seeds and learn that seeds have 3 parts.

Social Studies – rules at home, school and in our community.

Homework

Read to and with your child for 15 minutes nightly. As your read together, spend time discussing the story, what happens first, middle, and end of story. Choose a favorite part and do the book response. Tell in a picture or a few words why someone should read that book. Have your child do the drawing!
