Dear Kindergarten families,

An important week ahead!

Wednesday morning we will attend Mass at 8:30 and receive the blessing of ashes as Lent begins. Please join us if your schedule permits.

Religion – Liturgical season of Lent. We will plant some seeds and watch them sprout, develop as our hearts and minds grow in God’s love. We will add to our daily prayers and intentions. And we will be working on good deeds to help others.

Language arts – writing sentences, using our snap words, practicing vowel sounds along with word families. Continuing practice on beginning and ending sounds as we read and write. Using ending marks is a large part of our sentence writing.

Math finds us measuring with standard units. Counting up from a number other than one. More practice counting by 5’s and starting to recognize the pattern when counting by 2’s. Time with attribute blocks – noting, color, shape, sides and corners.

Social studies -the history of some important Black Americans.

Science – Mystery Science – a mini lesson on Leap Year.
