Dear Kindergarten Families,
We will try to keep this busy week as normal as possible with all the excitement in the air!
Your little saints will be getting ready for the Saint’s Parade. Please make sure your ‘saint’ can walk, sit and kneel without problems in their costume. Please have your child come to school dressed in their Saint costume with uniform underneath.
We will be attending Mass on Thursday and Friday morning. Friday children K-2 proceed into church in their costume, the parade follows Mass.
Wednesday is a free dress day. Your child may wear Halloween t-shirts, socks, bows, etc; no costumes, please. Tattoo dollars can still come in for the next couple days. All monies from tattoos add to our mission efforts for Adopt-A-Family.
Academics:
Learning how saints taught people about God and love for us. Our saint project will be the majority of our religion work this week. This consists of a picture, some writing, a craft and what we can do to be more like a saint here on Earth.
We will spend time with our new phonics series and our mascot Mabel. Letters and their sounds, rhyming, and syllables continue following our daily work. Writing and Reading Workshops continue with specific strategies helping us become good writers and readers.
Math will continue with estimation and touch on number stories. Number stories begin with telling and acting our addition and subtraction number stories or problems.
Life science finds us working in the garden and recording our findings in our journals. Animal changes in the fall as they prepare for winter.
Social studies has us working with direction, using the compass rose as we work on map skills.
Friday is a noon dismissal and a day you won’t want to miss. Please have your child costume ready when you bring them to school Friday morning.
if you have any questions …. feel free to send me an email.
God Bless your families,
Mrs. Brown
