Now that we are in the month of November it is time to start getting excited about our field trip with kindergarten buddies to the Channel Islands Visitor Center on November 12th. I am attaching the permission form; please print it out, sign it and send it in to me with a check for $12 attached. Click here for the form: November field trip.
For homework this week, we will be completing Reading Logs using the new form (click here for the form: Reading log #2,) and students should complete ixL Math skills D 1, 2, and 8. Both of these assignments are due next Monday.
This week we continue our personal narratives in Writer’s Workshop.
In Vocabulary we continue our study of Unit 6 words. The practice quiz will be on Thursday and the test will be on Friday.
Today we started our study of Spelling Unit 9. Students should have all of the book pages for unit 9 completed by Thursday, as preparation for the test on Friday.
In Grammar we will do a Mastery Test for units one and two on Wednesday, and we will begin our study of verbs tomorrow.
We are working on Unit 3 in Math, which covers multiplication and division. Good time to start reviewing our basic facts!
In Religion we are working on short Saint reports to be presented in class.
In Social Studies we are studying the Early Californians, focusing upon the tribes that have lived here from early times.
We are studying interactions of living things in Science. There will be a test later next week on chapter two.
In Reading groups, we continue discussions and activities related to our books.
