Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Amazing it is the last day of March! As we continue through the season of Lent.. “The Church asks us to surrender ourselves to prayer and to the reading of Scripture, to fasting and to giving alms”.  In class we have added “Hail Mary” to our morning prayers. This week the “Glory Be” will be our additional prayer. Thank you to several families who have helped support the RAIN Project with Mr. Doswell’s class. There is still a couple more weeks to bring in supplies to support this program.

Religion: Stations of the Cross on Wednesday at 2:00. Come join us if your schedule permits. In class, we discuss what happens to Jesus in each Station. Religion lessons include Children’s Bible stories with movie clips on several of the Parables taught by Jesus.

ELA: Review of focus letters /k/ and /qu/ and short vowels /a/ and /i/. We start a new theme in our phonics books working with letter /d/ and short vowel /o/. Word families  ‘og’ and ‘ot’. Comprehension strategies: text organizing and summarizing as we listen to our big book stories read aloud.

EM: Section 6 continues with measuring, counting, graphing and surveying. Focus on counting coins, particularly the values of coins when counting change.

Science: Our natural resources -water, animal and plant products, and metals and minerals. Next week magnets!

Social Studies will continue with National Symbols.
