Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,
Here we are in the month of March!
We have an educational outreach program Monday morning, Ladybug Lady and Her Creepy Crawly Friends. I’m sure your student will have lots to say about it.
Our annual School Fair is Wednesday evening @ 6:30 -8:00. Be sure to come and see what your kinders have been learning/building in science. Every grade level has been working hard on projects relating to religion, science, and social studies.
Friday is a noon dismissal and Primary Centers. If you need service hours and are free to help, please contact our room moms or send me a note.
Our religion lessons continue with the season of Lent and ways to give to others. As we continue to grow in love and faith…writing cards to cheer elders at the Victoria Care Center will be part of our week. St. Patrick and the Holy Trinity will be discussed to complete our religion studies. Stations of the Cross continues on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00- if your schedule permits, please join us!
Phonics has us working with short /i/ and word families ‘ig’ and ‘it’ which follows text in our reading series. We continue to blend and segment words. Reading strategy focus is to predict/infer. In this theme our comprehension skills work with fantasy and realism.
Measurement and worksheets with non-standard units as we move through Chapter 6 in math. Common Core math is incorporated into our daily math centers.
A permission slip is coming home today for our first field trip on the bus. Green Thumb Nursery and Albertson’s grocery store will be our adventure on Monday, March 11. Permission slips must be returned this week by Thursday.
God Bless your families,
Mrs. Carol Brown
