Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope everyone had time to relax and enjoy the long weekend! As we return to school… we have some exciting things going on. Tuesday a lab on magnets, followed with an art lesson.

Wednesday we will start to bring home our sunflowers – these have been planted by your child, a gift of new life. We have been learning God’s precious gift of Jesus’ His love and new life. Please find a nice spot to plant, watch grow and change over the summer.

Most of this week will be a review of skills learned this year in math and language arts.

ELA – continuing to practice letter/ sounds, sight words, and picture cues for beginning reading skills. Writing Workshop is all about making the world a better place.

Math finds us learning to tell time to hour and elapsed time, addition and subtraction skills, place value and math story problems.

Social studies – mapping,  giving directions near and far, left and right and a lesson on Flag Day in June.

Friday is a free-free dress celebrating our earnings from Jogathan. And a noon dismissal!

Friday is also “Move Up Day”. Your child will see what it is like to be in first grade. They won’t want to miss it!!

Monday, June 4 is Field Day – Theme is Popsicles!  It is a fun afternoon of games 8th grade students plan and host this event. Look for an attachment in your email each family has a Popsicle color to wear. Color is for tops or bottoms or both!

any questions?? Feel free to send an email!

Blessings,
