Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope every family had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Monday is a free dress for all students who have registered through  FACTS  for our coming school year. Information has been provided in the weekly school letter, the link is on our school website at the top of the page.  www.sacredheartschoolventura.org

Wednesday is our field trip to Underwood Farms. Permission slips and cost of  $7.50 must be in by Tuesday. All students will need to bring a sack lunch, in a paper bag please! A snack and a water bottle will be provided. Dress for this trip will be uniform shirt, jeans, and comfortable  walking shoes. Please sunscreen your child before school as we will be outdoors for much of the day.

Friday is the Spring Fling! In-n-Out burgers were pre-ordered–last date to order was May 6.  If you did not meet this deadline or if your child does not like burgers please pack a lunch. The fun begins at  3:00 ending at 6:30. Please come and enjoy this afternoon!

Academic Week:

We will continue to learn about Mary’s life and pray the rosary. From our religion book, chapters 19 and 20: Seeds are Good and Butterflies are Good. Reflecting on Jesus giving His life so that we can live in love as Jesus did. We celebrate new life with great joy as we forgive, care and show compassion for others.  Language arts will continue with short vowel ‘e’ and word families, ‘et’ and ‘en’. Reading for fluency and comprehension, action and naming words as we write simple sentences and short stories. Subtraction will begin this week. Counting money is a difficult concept for many; we will have a money center every week, please find a moment to practice at home.
