Middle school students have certainly been “doing” math.

8th graders are working in small groups covering topics from linear regression (both by “eyeballing” the line of best fit and using our graphing calculators) to working with ratios and proportional relationships to evaluating and writing expressions.

7th graders are reviewing for a test covering topics from addition and subtraction models, to solving and graphing inequalities and solving equations using the addition property of equality as well as constructing triangles and playing with the triangle inequality theorem.

6th graders are in the middle of working with fractions – we’ve reviewed how to find common denominators using factor trees, multiples, and something new for most of us – ladders! We are continuing our work with fractions as we tackle mixed numbers.
