Sixth and Eighth graders have completed their first virtual lab! We’ve been reviewing the scientific method- making observations, using our background knowledge and new concepts to make a hypothesis and put it to the test. Sixth graders used erosion as the topic and made models using sugar. We “eroded” different shapes and recorded what we saw. Eighth graders tested how many water drops can fit on the head side of a penny. We ran the test three times and completed a data table. Both classes noted how important it is to be careful, follow all directions, be as accurate as possible and to be very observant- watching for inconsistencies and possible errors.
