This second week of Lent brings our focus to the life of Jesus, from birth to His death on the cross. On Friday we will attend Mass at 8:30 and the Stations of the Cross at 11:00. Dismissal is at 12:00 this Friday. If you can come join us, please do!
Language Arts lessons continue with sorting Words Their Way. We are playing catch up from last week. The new sorts will come home on Tuesday. We will have a test on the previous sort Monday. Please continue to work on beginning sounds at home and maybe some of the other letters that make the word.
The workshops will be a significant part of each day. Writing topic thinking of ways to improve and take care of our Earth. Reading and Phonics follow our super powers and using our reading muscles to read more words, as we sound out more words and find several sight words
Math lessons introduce the concept of half and tools for measuring short periods of time. We will focus on seconds with movement activities such as jumping, dancing, and clapping. We will be using timers. Might be a bit of time at end of week to skip count with calculators.
Science begins a unit on weather; including the kinds of weather we experience during different seasons of the year. RAYS (Reading Awakens Young Scientists) program is on Wednesday first thing in the morning!
Have a blessed week! ~ Mrs. Brown
