Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Thanksgiving is a time to be with family and friends.    I am so thankful that you share your children with me everyday. We all have so much to be thankful for.  I hope enjoys the holiday.  This Wednesday is a noon dismissal.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org.

Below is an overview of our week.

Math: Our focus this  week in estimating our quotient in  division problems.  We are analyzing the relationship between multiplication and division.   Since it is a short week students are required to turn in two Accelerated Math assignments this week.

Science: We will begin chapter 4.  We are going to focus on fresh water resources on Earth.

Vocabulary: We will have our Unit 5 test on Wednesday.

Social Studies:  Chapter 4.  We will begin to summarize the  exploration of Ponce de Leon, Coronado and De Soto.

English: Our focus this week is on commas.

Religion:  This week we will focus on the true meaning of being thankful for everything that we have.

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.

Thank you

Ms. Carney
