Dear Kindergarten Families,

A new month with much to do!

I have had a few questions regarding the Saint’s Parade. Please bring your children to school in their saint costume.  Kindergarten, first and second grade saints will precede together into church. They will sit in first few rows without buddies. Parents will need to find a spot early for best view of your little saints walking into church. Mass begins at 8:30.  After Mass they will parade around the school, approximately 10:00.

Events this week:

Donut pre-sales begin this week to raise money for Adopt-a-Family. Wednesday we will have a free dress to raise money for Veterans. Please send in $1.00 or more and have your child dress in red, white or blue shirts.

Flag retirement ceremony on Wednesday at 11:00

Saint’s Parade on Friday at 8:30

Academics this week:

Religion lessons – learning about a few saints listed in our religion text. Chapter 7, Families are good and the Lord’s Prayer.

ELA- Theme 3, ‘We’re a Family’ read aloud stories noting family words. Our reading strategy focus: predict/infer, we will use this skill to draw conclusions when reading together. Beginning sound /b/ and sight word sentences with ‘I, like, see, and my’. Writing skills include stretching out words and adding labels to our pictures.

Everyday Math: number formation, reviewing color patterns, counting and number recognition with graphing and measurement with the pan balance.

Science- continues with life science – insects and spiders.

Social studies – our flag and meaning of Veterans Day.

That should take us through the week-

Thank you for your children,

Mrs. Carol Brown
