Dear Kindergarten Families,

It’s time to remember how much we have to be thankful for….I appreciate our parent/grandparent help in so many ways. I am truly blessed to have your children in kindergarten this year 🙂  Thank you!

A big thank you to all parents who were able to come to help with Primary Centers! And for all the parents who help us ‘behind the scenes’ to prepare for many classroom needs.

When you are out shopping ….

Our school is supporting the Adopt-a-Family program. We need these items by December 7

  •   Stuffed animal(s)
  •   Box of cereal
  •   Candy for stockings

Canned food and nonperishable food items are needed to support St. Vincent de Paul food drive. Bags will be sent home on Monday, November 30. Please purchase an extra can or two when Thanksgiving shopping.

Our Academics:

Instructional goals for language arts begin this week and will continue next week. Our main focus is letter/sound of Vv, beginning sounds and rhyming words, strategy for reading is to predict and infer with  comprehension skill to look for cause and effect of stories read.

A short week of review counting, number recognition, and sequencing numbers.  Introducing some basic language of probability as well as thinking about probability, using words: certain, likely, impossible, might happen and unlikely.

Science continues with informational readings about animals. Social studies finds us talking about Thanksgiving long ago and today’s traditions.
