Dear Fifth Grade Families,
I hope everyone had a peaceful Thanksgiving . We all have so much to be thankful for.
Today is the start of the second trimester. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives). This Wednesday, November 28th is a free dress day for a $1.00 donation. The money donated will go to our Adopt-A- Family. If you have any remaining Halloween candy please feel free to bring it to school this week. The donated candy will also be donated to Adopt-A-Family. This Friday is a noon dismissal and school wide collaborative learning.
Please have your child wear their P.E. uniform on Thursday. Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. Please have Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org.
Below is an overview of our week.
Math: We will be solving multi step word problems. We will also focus on dividing by two digit numbers with four and five digit dividends. We will be having a vocabulary quiz on Thursday. The students have the words in their Vocabulary Composition books.
Science: We are going to focus on fresh water resources on Earth.
Vocabulary: Unit 6
Social Studies: We are going to Summarize the changes Spanish colonization brought to New Spain. We will also be having our second States Test on Thursday.
English: We continue our focus on commas.
Religion: We will be locating, reading, and understanding stories from the Bible that related to the sacraments.
Literature: We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
