Dear Families,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year. The students are doing an excellent job and keeping focused and keeping organized.  This is a skill we work on throughout fifth grade.

This Friday is a noon dismissal.  We will also be having our school wide learning centers.

Below is an overview of our week.

Vocabulary:  Review of units 5-8

Spelling:  Unit 11

Math:  Chapter 5 test on Tuesday and then we move onto fractions.

Science: This week our focus will be on the digestive system

Social Studies: Our chapter 3 test will be on Wednesday.  We will then begin to learn about the conquest of the Aztec and the Incas.

Religion:  We will be learning about the Holy Family. We will also be discussing the wedding at Cana.

Literature:  We will be reading the story A River Ran Wild.  We will also continue to read The Indian in the Cupboard.
