Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

This week we continue learning about our saints. Hopefully all are working on your child’s saint costume….if you need help or need ideas please let me know.

Halloween tattoo pre sales begin today and continues until next Tuesday.  Cost is $1.00 per tattoo. You can purchase several for Halloween evening, two of the purchased tattoos will be applied on the back of your child’s hand Halloween morning.

Wednesday is free free dress wear blue and white to celebrate the Dodgers in the World Series!

A peek at our week:

Religion lessons on several saints including a craft. Your child will need to know their saint’s name for the Saint’s Parade. Wednesday at 2:00 is the Living Rosary, please come join us if your schedule allows. Friday Mass parents and family members are always welcome to sit with us.

ELA – follows the same pattern: letter /k/ sound and letter formation. Vowels /a/ and /e/. We have a sight word search as we read together, looking for clues to help remember word/picture association on each page. Writing more and adding detail to our papers makes our writing more interesting to read with others. We are currently working on a writing a true story.

Math – most of the week will provide practice with teen numbers – counting and recognizing the teen numbers 11-19. Estimation will be introduced as a ‘smart guess’ and the importance of knowing about how many.

Science – fall changes with plants and animals – garden work continues if you have time to stop by and check out our backyard, you will see lots of veggies growing nicely. Soon we will see flowers and the beginnings of food!

Social studies – mapping our classroom

That should take us through the week!

Friday is a full day of school.

Blessings,

Mrs. Brown
