Upon finishing R.J. Palacio’s Wonder, the sixth-grade students learned lessons about friendship from Auggie’s experiences. They discussed which character influenced Auggie most, arriving at a final verdict. The students determined that Auggie, in fact, had the most profound impact on the other characters.

The students also had the chance to view the film, allowing them to compare and contrast the printed material with its movie adaptation. The majority of students favored the novel, appreciating the diverse perspectives from which the story was narrated.
