Reading Awakens Young Scientists

Today the Discovery Center presented an educational program capturing our interest as we explored how insects react to stimuli.  First, your children listened to the story, “Hey, Little Ant” to awaken their senses. Then they made  predictions as to how meal worms would attract or repel when exposed to light, water, sandpaper and mint.  Observations and conclusions were recorded on paper.  Meal worms in the larva state came home today. The pupa stage will come soon, then finish as a ‘grain beetle’ in a few weeks.
