Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed a joyous and restful Christmas Break. Here is a look at what we are learning in second grade this week:

Reading Log Wk 11 – read for a minimum of 20 minutes daily
A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS
READING: We are learning to use more than one strategy as we tackle challenging words.
PHONICS: We are learning how to teach other writers about capital letters.
SPELLING: Spelling tests will be on Friday.
MATH: We have started a new unit focusing on different strategies for addition and subtraction. This week we are learning how to solve number stories using change-to-more diagrams and parts-and-total diagrams.
RELIGION: We have begun Unit 3 in our Religion Book which focuses on Jesus giving us the gift of Peace as we prepare for Reconciliation.
