As we return to on campus and distance learning, we are settling back into our routines. Here is what second grade will be learning this week.

Fluency Wk 15
Reading Log Wk 15 – Please read a minimum of 20 minutes daily with the goal of having read 100 or more minutes for the week.
A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS
READING: We continue learning how to be nonfiction book experts by anticipating and using the lingo of a nonfiction topic. In addition, we are using context knowledge to help us with unknown words.
PHONICS: We are learning about adding -ing and -ed to silent E words, doubling consonants before adding endings, and making plural words with -s or -es.
SPELLING: Spelling tests will be on Friday.
MATH: We are learning about line segments and polygons.
RELIGION: In Chapter 13, we are learning to become better people through sorrow for our sins and penance.
WRITER’S WORKSHOP: We continue writing opinions about our favorite books focusing our audience and providing text evidence to support our opinions.
