A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS

READING:  We are learning that authors plan the endings of their stories. We are also learning how to share our love of a series with others.

PHONICS: We are learning how to collect and sort words that we find interesting from our reading.

SPELLING: Spelling tests will be on Friday, May 7.

MATH: We just started our unit on measurement. We are learning how to measure lengths using centimeters, decimeters, inches, feet, yards, and meters.

RELIGION: In Chapter 24, we learn how Mary, the Mother of the Church, cares for us and how we can pray to Mary for help.

WRITER’S WORKSHOP: We continue working on our nonfiction books. We are learning to help our readers picture what we are writing by our word choices. We are also using pictures to help tell our stories.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We enjoyed learning about our ancestry. Now, our focus is economics. We will be learning about food production and consumption from long ago and today.
