HOMEWORK

No fluency or IXL homework this week.

Reading – read 20 minutes daily for a minimum of 100 minutes for the week. Record the book titles and the number of minutes read on the reading log.

ACADEMICS

Reading: Becoming Expert Readers of Nonfiction Books – We are noticing that even after taking a sneak peek of our books we are often surprised by the new information we are learning.

Phonics: Phonological awareness review continued – We are learning to read and write words with -r controlled vowels focusing on the -ore rime and the -ar and -or spelling patterns.

Spelling: No new sorts this week.

Math: The Unit 2 Test will be on Tuesday. Our next unit will focus on place value, time, and money.

Writing: We are working on final revisions and edits of our personal narratives.

Religion: We continue learning how to give love to others through respect, kindness, and truthfulness.

Social Studies: We will finish our lesson on labeling features on a map of the United States.

Science: We will learn why a wild animal would leave its habitat to visit a local playground.
