ACADEMICS

Reading: We are learning how to connect information from different nonfiction books on the same topic.

Phonics: We continue reviewing Phonological Awareness. We are using the Vowel Team Chart to help us spell words with the vowel teams: ea, oa, ou, ow, au, and aw. We also continue to practice reading and writing snap words.

Spelling: No new sorts this week.

Math: We will be reviewing Unit 3 on Tuesday in preparation of the Unit 3 Assessment on Wednesday. The remainder of the week will be review and math games.

Writing: We are publishing our personal narratives in this week. When we return from Christmas Break, we will share our stories with the class. In addition, we are finishing our letters to Santa and working on Christmas cards for our 7th grade buddies and families.

Religion: We continue learning about Jesus’ forgiveness and the importance of saying “I’m sorry”. We are also learning about the true meaning of Christmas.

No Science or Social Studies: We are putting the finishing touches on Christmas crafts.
