ACADEMICS

Reading: We continue reading books in series and share what we love about the books with our friends.

Phonics: We are learning how to study and write compound words.

Spelling: No new sorts.

Math: We are working on different math concepts and assessing what we have learned in second grade as we prepare for third grade.

Writing: We are putting the final touches on our opinion letters. We are making certain to hook our readers, state our opinion, provide reasons supporting our opinion, and write a conclusion. We are also checking for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.

Religion: We continue to celebrate God’s love as we review the final unit in our religion book.

Social Studies: We are learning about the differences between wants and needs in our economy.

Science: We will be learning how new materials are invented as we design futuristic inventions.

Art: Art with Miss Sofer every Wednesday!

Thursday, May 26 – 12:00 p.m. dismissal

Friday, May 27 – School holiday – no school

Monday, May 30 – Memorial Day – no school
