HOMEWORK

Math IXL Skills:

G.11 (Add two-digit numbers – sums to 200)

H.6 (Subtract two two-digit numbers – with regrouping)

Language Arts IXL Skill:

QQ.7 (Identify possessive pronouns)

Fluency Wk 21 – This should be completed over the course of 4 days

Reading Log Wk 21 – Please read a minimum of 20 minutes daily with the goal of having read 100 or more minutes for the week.


A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS


READING:  We are learning how to build our reading stamina as books get longer and more tricky.

PHONICS: We are learning to listen to where we hear vowels in words, and we are learning the different spelling patterns for long /a/, long /e/, and long /i/ words.

SPELLING: Your child’s sort can be found in their planner. Spelling tests will be on Friday, March 19

MATH: We are learning how to build arithmetic skills (seeing how to make 10s) for adding three or more 1-digit and multi-digit numbers. We are also practicing doubling and halving.

RELIGION: In Chapter 19, we learn how to offer ourselves to God and give praise and thanks. In addition, our eight graders will be presenting the Stations of the Cross.

WRITER’S WORKSHOP: We are publishing our opinion writing this week. We will begin a new writing unit next week.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We continue sharing our timelines. We will be learning how to map out our classroom.

SCIENCE: We will learn that plants have different needs in terms of sunlight and water. Focus questions: Should you water a cactus? Why do cacti have spines?
