Dear Second Grade Families,

Thank you for the beautiful flowers and cards. They made pretty bouquets and we feel very appreciated.  We hope all our mom’s had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Wednesday will be Free dress for one dollar with the money going to charity.

There will also be May crowning of Blessed Virgin Mary during the last part of the day.

FRIDAY is a full day with dismissal at 2:45.

FIELD TRIP to Underwood Farms in Moorpark will be next Monday, May 21. Please send in permission slip and money as soon as possible. We were able to achieve a lower fee thanks to the PTC who contributes $10.00/chld per year for field trips.

RELIGION: We are continuing to follow Jesus by making good choices as children of God, and learning about the mass.

READING: We will continue with the story “The School Mural”, reading for fluency and comprehension, and all the activities that go with it.

SPELLING: Unit 33, spelling words that have the same ending sound as “happy”

LANGUAGE ARTS: more endings for base words and vowel pairs in phonics; creative writing; word attack; vocabulary development; dictionary work and cursive handwriting.

MATH: Adding and subtracting facts to 20; subtracting with and without regrouping; continuing adding with regrouping, number patterns to 1000. Continue at home with the important life skills of telling time and counting money.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES:  Forces & Motion/Where our food comes from.
