Dear Kindergarten parents,

Grandparent’s and Special Friends Day on Friday was really nice, I enjoyed meeting everyone! They got a glimpse of our daily work schedule, and of course your students had fun modeling for them! A great day 🙂

A look at this week:

Religion lessons begin with a better understanding of what goes on during Mass.  We will observe objects in church while we carefully begin to realize the parts and order of Mass. Stories from the Children’s Bible are always part of our week. This week we learn about Jonah.

ELA – focus letter /Tt/ and short vowel /a/; print practice with straight letters; syllables, and sight words. Reading Workshop reminds us we need to re-read to learn more from books. We look for sight words and try to match up words that go with the pictures. Writer’s Workshop teaches us we can write, even when our idea is hard to put on paper.

EM- everyday math has us working with coins and sorting pennies, nickels and dimes, we will work on ixl in the computer lab this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Counting games- learning to count on from a number other than 0 or 1.

Science – animal needs and what they do in the fall to prepare for winter.

Social Studies -looking at the world map – noting directions and distance.

Look for Family Envelope coming home on Tuesday.

This should take us through the week!

Blessings,

Mrs. Brown
